This year at Sage Summit, Sage announced some big news regarding Sage 500 ERP (formerly Sage ERP MAS 500). Much to the relief of Sage 500 ERP users, Sage is no longer retiring or setting an end of life date for Sage 500 ERP.
So what does this mean, exactly?
Basically, it means that initially Sage will not drop Sage 500 ERP from the ERP product line, and – as of now – they have no plans for Sage 500 ERP to go the subscription route. While the drop of Sage 500 ERP is anticipated at some point, it is not happening anytime soon. In fact, Sage is committed to supporting Sage 500 customers for as long as they want to use the product and will continue releasing updates to enhance user experience and expand the software’s functionality.
The 2016 release of Sage 500 ERP will include the following updates:
- Sage Intelligence improvements
- Next/Previous button retains tab position
- Color coded companies
- Pay AP vendors by credit card
- EFT Remittance advice by Doc Transmittal
- Split CM across multi-GL
- Reworked IM purge
- Customer memo “pop-up”
- Level 3 Credit Card
