Sage 100 Tips: Inventory, Payroll and More

With that in mind, here are some useful tips for our Sage software customers.

Sage Software Antivirus Program Alert

Are you using Webroot Antivirus for your PC protection? Some Sage software users are having issues with this antivirus program and non-framework modules which include Payroll, Job Cost, MRP, and Work Order. A file missing error occurs during register updates and the running of some reports such as the Employer’s Expense Summary even if Webroot is disabled. We recommend that you completely uninstall Webroot and use a different antivirus program.

Sage Gold or Platinum Subscription Plan Benefits

Don’t forget to take advantage of the benefits you have under the Sage Gold or Platinum subscription plans. If your company is under one of these plans, you have unlimited access to Anytime Learning on Sage University (sageu.com). To help track employee accomplishments, Sage has created a new Team Training Manager role. With this role you can assign classes, create reports on employee training, and print certificates of completion. (If you are not subscribed to Anytime Learning, this option is available for purchase.)

Sage Inventory Advisor Basic is included in the Sage 100C Gold or Platinum plan. The Basic level of Inventory Advisor is perfect for wholesale and distribution businesses but it does not include Bill of Materials or Work Order integration.

Sage 100 Inventory Frozen by Mistake

If you attempt to run a Utility or Period End in Inventory and receive a message that you can’t do it “with items frozen,” it may be the result of someone mistakenly freezing inventory when they only meant to print the Physical Count Worksheet. (The default report option is to Print Worksheet AND Freeze Items.) To fix this, go back to the Physical Count Worksheet and choose CLEAR FROZEN ITEMS in the Report Options and click PRINT OR PREVIEW. This will delete the records in the Physical Count Entry file.

Sage 100 Users and Payroll Tier

To confirm the number of users you have purchased for your system, go to the Library Master/Setup Menu and choose System Configuration. Then go to the Modules tab.

Note that you also see your Payroll Subscription Expiration date as well as the payroll tier (number of paid employees).
